Integrity. Infrastructure. Innovation.

Rising To New Altitudes!

integrity

represent the people

The people of Palmdale are not represented well because many of our representatives are influenced by people or organizations that have interests that conflict with Palmdale’s interests. I commit to representing the people of District 1 and all Palmdale residents to the best of my ability.

Actions to address:

  • Host monthly town halls with my constituents in person or virtually to inform them of important city matters, to hear what is important to them, as well as answer any questions they may have
  • Consistently vote for the things the people want me to vote for and that align with my beliefs and values
  • Refuse donations from people or organizations that directly oppose the best interests of Palmdale

Infrastructure

Improve General Safety and Lower Crime

Crime has risen in Palmdale and 911 response times have increased significantly. Healthy cities have a foundation of healthy families and healthy families want to live in safe cities.

Actions to address:

  • Fully support our Sheriff’s Department and first responders
  • Assure the Sheriff’s Department budgets are well funded and appropriate for the demands placed upon them
  • Increase police presence and the frequency of regular neighborhood patrol routes
  • Improving the relationship with the community by building upon programs such as “Coffee with a Cop” events at various locations within the city

Improve Support of Local Business

Small businesses create more than 50% of local jobs and generate significant tax revenue for the city. Small business is a major component of the engine that drives economic growth. Local entrepreneurs have an intimate understanding of what products and services Palmdale needs. It only makes sense to support aspiring entrepreneurs as best we can.

Actions to address:

  • Improve the business license and building permit process. Improve process times. Get rid of the bureaucracy
  • Lower building permit fees- Improve Building & Safety and Planning Departments customer service and communication

Improve Education

We must prepare the next generation with the right skill sets to support local industries and businesses. A technically sound labor force is required to stay ahead of emerging technologies and to appropriately implement them. This will assure our city continues to grow, remains competitive, and does not suffer obsolescence.

Actions to address:

  • Build UCAV
  • Offer degree programs that support our local industries and businesses
  • Have laboratories that study emerging technologies in science, engineering, computers, medicine, etc.

Re-open Palmdale City Airport

Air transportation is a must for efficient transportation of people and for efficient supply chains. This will also create thousands of local aerospace jobs and airport retail jobs.

Actions to address:

  • Advocate for starting regular commuter flights from Palmdale to regional and international airports such as Burbank, LAX, Orange County, Las Vegas, etc.

Improve City Design, Public Works, Landscaping, and General Cleanliness

City design can be much better to improve the human experience. All successful cities have an efficient supply of water and energy. The more accessible these are the faster they will be converted to growing food, construction, and production of products at low cost.

Actions to address:

  • Assure the city has a strong and experienced civil engineering team
  • Design the city with future utility, energy, and population demands in mind
  • Assure water supply infrastructure is efficient for providing inexpensive water for drinking, sanitation, agriculture, business, farm animals, landscape beautification, etc.
  • Design roads to improve flow of traffic
  • Lower the amount of littering by fining people more consistently
  • Help the homeless by addressing mental disorders, drug addiction, and enforcing trespassing laws

Innovation

Plan the Implementation of Emerging Technologies

We must plan the implementation of advanced technologies to stay relevant, provide comparable amenities to other cities, and be more inviting to future generations if we want to keep our demographic youthful and vibrant.
